Ball valve model labeling instructionsBall valve model labeling instructions

blog cover 1

Ball valves are a common type of valve and are widely used in various fields of the process industry. In the valve industry, the model representation method of ball valves is standardized to establish a good communication standard for user units and manufacturers! Ruiward Valve is committed to creating high-performance precision ball valve manufacturing. This article recommends the standard representation of ball valve models by Tolos Valve to share with industry elites.

The model representation of ball valves is usually composed of letters and numbers; In the standard GB/T21465-2008 “Valve Terminology”, it is defined as a valve whose opening and closing member (ball) is driven by the valve stem and rotates around the axis of the ball valve. The main method for editing ball valve models here is to explain the additional codes, ball valve codes, driving methods, connection forms, structural forms, sealing materials, pressure ratings, and valve body materials of the ball valve.

Method for indicating the model number of ball valves:

Additional codes for ball valves: V represents valve core with V-shaped structure, D represents low temperature, B represents insulation, P represents eccentric structure, U and S, and DY mostly represent upper mounted type;

Ball valve name code: Q represents ball valve;

Ball valve drive code: 2 for electro-hydraulic, 3 for turbine, 6 for pneumatic, 7 for hydraulic, 9 for electric, manual without code;

Connection method code: 1 represents internal thread, 4 represents flange type, 6 represents welding, 7 represents clamp type;

Structural type code: Floating type: 1 represents direct flow to, 2 represents Y-shaped tee, 4 represents L-shaped tee, 5 represents T-shaped tee; Fixed type: 0 represents hemispherical straight through, 6 represents four-way flow channel, 7 represents straight flow to, 8 represents L-shaped tee, 9 represents Y-shaped tee;

Sealing material code: B Babbitt alloy, F fluororubber, F46 fluorine lining, H stainless steel, J rubber lining, M Monel alloy, N nylon plastic, Monel P, Y hard alloy, W valve body directly processed;

Pressure rating code: 16 indicates a pressure of 16 kilograms (1.6Mpa) and can reach a maximum of 64Mpa; 150LB represents the American standard pound pressure, with a maximum pressure resistance rating of 2500LB (150LB=1.6MPA/300LB=2.5-4.0mpa/400LB=6.4mpa/600LB=10mpa); 5K represents daily pressure, with a maximum pressure of 63K;

Valve body material code: A titanium and titanium alloy, C carbon steel, I chromium molybdenum steel, P18-8 series stainless steel, RMo2Ti series stainless steel, S plastic.

Ball valve editor example: DQ41H-16P represents: D low temperature, Q ball valve, 4 flange connections, 1 floating straight channel, H represents stainless steel, 16 pressure is 16 kg, P valve body is 18-8 series stainless steel.
